A Note From
The tree did EXACTLY what it was designed to do...produce fruit.
I have two kumquat trees in my backyard and this year they were slam packed with fruit!
It's a joy of mine to mosey in the backyard, pluck a few ripened kumquats and pop those sun-soaked bursts of citrus in my mouth.
BUT, the temperatures dropped below freezing leaving those little trees and all that fruit subject to the elements.
It was beyond their control. The trees didn't do anything wrong, they were simply subject to the atmosphere it was provided.
The fruit? Well, it was pretty much destroyed.
I thought..."what a waste."
Yet, knowing there would be another season. The roots would grow deeper. There would be more sun, rain and fruit to grow; that God was there all the time. Always present! Always seeing!
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says:
"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven."
Daniel 2:21 also tells us:
“He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings.
He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars.Bottom line? God is in control. In the times of fruitfulness AND in the times of loss.
Love him! Serve him! He's always there.
