A NOTE FROM PASTOR ROGER – 10/18/16

A Note From
Pastor Roger

Years ago I restored a cute little house that has beautiful, old oak wooden floors. However, I just recently discovered that some local termites decided that they TASTE better than they LOOK.

Yes, they decided to make part of my floor their home without a rental agreement.
I will now have to figure out a way to evict them and repair the damage due to their sin of gluttony. You know, this world sure is fragile.

I often think of the apostle Paul's words to the Colossians. "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."

It is so important that we hold very lightly to the things in this life. When I was a little boy I had a picture that hung above my bed saying, "one life will soon be past, but only what's done for Christ will last."

So many things are "here today, and gone tomorrow".
Just what those little termites intend to do to my floor.

Matthew 6:19-21
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but layup for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

  1. Yes! Amen! $$$does not make you happy, does not satisfy your soul, does not fix your heart❤️️❤️️. Only Jesus satisfies us with his peace, his love, and his forgiveness!

    Great word for us all!!
