Grapevines intrigue me.
In Scripture, both the old and new testament have many references to the Vine.
Jesus said, “I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener..."
Have you ever noticed how a growing branch just kind of steps out in faith? I mean, each growing branch begins its journey with nothing to hold on to.
Nothing to latch on to. Nothing to twist or grab finding safety and soundness to continue its journey.
I'm glad God our father is the Gardner. A gardner that watches carefully. As I reach out, and grow, and sojourn in this life, I can cling to him.
He sustains me. He's what I can hold on to and be assured HE WILL provide safety.
He prunes, waters and observes as I grow. He says "keep reaching... Keep growing... Keep producing fruit... I'm here, trust me! Cling tightly."
