At Generation we have a solid pastoral team and support staff. Here is a little bit of our story - We’d love to hear yours!
Pastor Roger leads the charge at Generation with the vision of the church. He holds master’s degrees in Divinity and Theology, and he has a background in foreign missions. He and his wife, Teresa, were missionaries to Romania for 10 years, and they have three children and one grandchild. One of Pastor Roger’s favorite quotes is from C.T. Studd, “Some wish to live within the sound of Church or Chapel bell; I want to run a Rescue Shop within a yard of hell.”
Pastor Josh puts action behind the church’s vision, overseeing daily operations. He is a native of Pensacola and holds a Master of Business Administration. Josh has two daughters, Adah & Lily, and a son, Joshua, who keep him running! He and his wife, Jennifer, enjoy hiking the Appalachian Trail where they were engaged during a 5-day group adventure. One of Josh’s favorite quotes is from Vance Havner: “The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps - we must step up the stairs.”
Pastor Greg oversees the Care ministries of the church which includes leading our prayer teams and conducting hospital visits. Pastor Greg and his family were founding members when the church began in 1996. He holds a master’s degree in Religious Education as well as a bachelor’s in Music Performance and Voice. Greg and his wife, Betty, have been married since 1981, and they have three children and five grandchildren. Pastor Greg’s favorite Bible verse is Matthew 6:33. “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
Family Ministries Pastor
Pastor Adam is responsible for all ministry teams from birth through high school. His focus is to lead Generation’s kids and students (G-Kids and Switch 180) into a deep, long lasting relationship with Jesus. He and his wife, Chelsey, have three children, and they run their family flooring business. Adam’s favorite quote is from Robert Brault: “Enjoy the little things because one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.”
Pastor Bryan is entrusted with bringing Generation into an atmosphere of worship each service. Born in Mexico and raised in France, Bryan grew up in France, where his parents are missionaries and where he met his wife, Helene. Bryan and Helene pastored a church in France for 10 years before relocating to the US. They have two children, Elyana and Jesse. Pastor Bryan’s life motto is “Guard your heart; be all there; aim for the fences; have no regrets."
Whether handling office communications, assisting our pastors, planning church events, or leading a worship set, Lisa wears a lot of “hats” at Generation. Her passion is to help lead people into the presence of the Lord through song and to see them set free from bondage. Lisa became a follower of Jesus when she was 15 years old, and she has been singing on Worship teams ever since. One of her favorite quotes is from D. L. Moody: “If God is your partner, make your plans big!”
Stephen may be a tall man now (6’ 4”), but he’s been part of this church since he was a very little boy. He’s served in just about every ministry team at the church, but he’s landed in the Tech team where he oversees all Audio, Video, and Lighting as well as the various technological needs of Generation. Stephen has a passion for seeing God’s truth triumph over everything else. His favorite quote is: “Don’t tell God how big your storm is. Tell the storm how big your God is.”
Social Media Manager
Hélène oversees all things social media at Generation Church. Her and her team's mission is to creatively and authentically share Generation on social media. One of Hélène's favorite quotes is from Max Lucado: "Quiet heroes dot the landscape of our society. They don’t make the headlines, but they do sew the hemlines and check the outlines and stand on the sidelines. You won’t find their names on the Nobel Prize short list, but you’ll find their names on the carpool, and Bible teacher lists. They are parents! Heroes! Their kids call them Mom. Dad. Succeed at home first."
Bookkeeper and Office Assistant
Jennifer is a West Coast girl, born and raised in Oregon. She moved to Pensacola in July of 1997 and started attending Harvest Church (Which became Generation Church in 2016). She describes her first impression of the church as “I knew I was home.” Jennifer works part time at the church, and she is a full-time mom to Josh & Lily. She and Pastor Josh have been married since 2010. One of Jennifer’s favorite quotes is from the Dowager Countess of Grantham in Downton Abbey: "My dear. A lack of compassion can be as vulgar as an excess of tears."
Ray is responsible for anything that shows up on the big screen at Generation. He works closely with the pastors to make sure their sermon notes come alive on the screen during each service. Ray and his wife, Danielle, have two children. Ray also serves as an instructor with Generation Bible School, and his favorite quote is from Stephen Goulet, founder of GBS: “This is why we do what we do. To cause life to flow abundantly to and in the people of God. We tote buckets of water from the cross and give it to His people.”
First Impressions Director
With a background in management and team leadership, Robin has a knack for making people feel comfortable and at ease. She and her team are on the “front lines” of Generation Church; whether it’s the greeter at the front door or the coffee bar attendant, they are the first face newcomers see. Robin’s passion is cooking/baking with an emphasis on wellness and nutrition, and she periodically brings a batch of her baked goods to share at the coffee bar! Her favorite quote is attributed to Winston Churchill: “Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It’s the courage to continue that counts.”
G-Kids Director, Nursery
Jen is responsible for providing a safe, welcoming space for the very youngest of the Generation Church family. She helps parents feel at ease when they leave their little ones in the Nursery. Jen and her husband, Eric, have three lovely daughters, two dogs and one cat. Jen is originally from Washington DC, but since her dad was in the Army and moved all over, she considers the world to be her hometown. Jen’s favorite quote is from Samwise Gamgee (JRR Tolkien): “In the end… this shadow, even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer.”
G-Kids Director, Preschool
Beth has worked with kids most of her life as a teacher, a nurse, and a parent. Loving and praying for the Preschoolers and planting the word of God in their hearts is her commitment and passion. As an avid reader, one of her favorite quotes is from The Last Battle (C.S. Lewis). "All their life in this world and all their adventures had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before."
G-Kids Director, 1st-5th Grade
Danielle runs Generation’s 1st-5th Grade Kids Church where she and her team use games, crafts, music, and video curriculum to have “Fun With Purpose.” Danielle has a passion for seeing God’s word come alive in her kids - the dozens in Kids Church and her and Ray’s two kids at home. Her favorite quote is from Amy Carmichael: “One can give without loving, but can’t love without giving.”
Switch 180 Worship Leader
Austin uses his vocal and instrumental talent to lead Generation’s youth into authentic worship. He sings and plays the guitar and drums in Switch 180 Wednesday gatherings and on the Sunday morning services. Austin grew up in Romania where his family (Pastor Roger and Teresa) were missionaries for 10 years. One of Austin’s favorite quotes is from Lloyd Christmas: “Well, it's not gonna do us any good to sit here whinin' about it.”
Josh uses his knack for attention-to-detail to ensure the REX is clean, stocked, and ready for each service and event. He is also a skilled writer and editor with experience in both print and online publications. Josh has a love for music; he’s part of the Generation Worship Team where he plays the bass guitar. Josh’s favorite quote is from his grandpa, Bob Morton: “Good music will make you forget bad sandwiches.”
