There's dad, carrying the burden. But it's interesting, I'm not sure I've ever seen a dad really dread it. It's like he's savoring every moment. Carrying that "burden of Joy" (with joy) because he loves that child.
If it's in a crowd, the child even gets to have the best view. He's able to rise above and see with better perspective as he or she sits on his father's shoulders.
Dads got his hands securely on their legs. Keeping them safe.
Really, the kid doesn't have to do anything but just wrap their arms around the father and ...Rest... enjoy the view... enjoy the warmth of the Father.
Deuteronomy 1:31
"... and in the wilderness, there you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place."
