A NOTE FROM PASTOR ROGER – 2/6/19

A Note From
Pastor Roger

It must be terrifying.

You’re walking along in life and you stumble into a place that feels like quicksand.

The thing about quicksand is that the more you struggle, the faster you sink.
The more you fight, the quicker your demise.

You need help. The simple fact is, you cannot get out by yourself. You need the strong arm of deliverance, something greater than the force that’s pulling you down.

It is a pitiful thing to be helpless, and alone. Stuck and sinking into the depths of despair.

Can you imagine throwing a lifeline to someone who is struggling to keep their head above the surface, yet they refuse to hold on to the very thing that will pull them out of their sinking pit?

I see it all the time. I stand amazed as I see individuals every day who refuse to latch on to the truth of God’s word.

The wisdom that’s available to navigate this life according to truth. They just look at the rope. "Nice rope, sure looks strong. I bet it works. Nah, I’ll just struggle till I die."

"There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death."
(Proverbs 14:12)

Stop fighting! Be still and hold firmly.
Trust me, the force to pull you out is only available on the other end of the rope.
