A Note From
This image has been etched into my mind for decades. Not only was this album one of my favorite albums, it was the record jacket that bore this picture of an old mans weathered hands holding on to a plow.
I could just imagine the years of hard work. The persistence, the sun beating down on them in the heat of the day.
Hands that held tightly and helped guide the plow as it buffeted through the dry, hard, rocky soil.
Hands determined to prepare the soil for seed. Hands that no doubt experienced many seasons of harvest. Hands that would surely eat the fruit of its labor from year to year.
Hands that did not give up. Hands that experienced physical pain. Hands that held on in love.
Hands that surely had seen stronger days, yet faithfully held on to the call of another row of planting seed. Aren't those hands beautiful?
Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
