A Note From
The post office...Department of motor vehicles...Walmart...Your favorite ride at Disney World!
What do these have in common? Waiting!!
Don’t you hate it? Seems like such a waste of time. I mean, there’s so much to do in this world, right?
So much to accomplish. So much that NEEDS to get done.
There is one particular moment on the mission field of Romania that is entrenched in my mind. It was waiting at the post office. But so often, it wasn’t that there was a lot of people, it’s just you had to wait.
I never understood it. What was the hold up? Is it simply that I didn’t matter? Was it someone just trying to be difficult or mean? I had every thought you can imagine go through my mind.
In a sense, it broke me.
There came a point where I stopped asking the questions and accepting the fact that waiting was inevitable.
It’s interesting, along with that decision to patiently wait, came great peace. I understood that ultimately every moment of my life was is in the hands of an all loving, all knowing heavenly father.
What is impatient in your life? What is driving you crazy? What “time frame”, have you had in your mind that is way overdue?
God knows. God cares, and is working even now. Wait on him. Please, for your own health and peace, wait on him.
Isaiah 40:30 - "Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint."
