Wisdom, wisdom, wisdom...
This coming Sunday, we tackle our second message on wisdom. I want to encourage everyone to come and grow in the area of wisdom.
Can you imagine God appearing to you in a dream and saying this to you: “ask, and I will give it to you”.
That is exactly what happened to King Solomon.
In humility, Solomon told the Lord, “I am only a little child, not knowing how to go out or come in.
In order to govern the people and fulfill the things you’ve called me to do, I need to be able to discern between good and evil"
That request so pleased the Lord that God said, "since you have asked for this instead of requesting long life or wealth and death for your enemies, I will give you a wise and discerning heart so that there will never have been anyone like you, Nor will there ever be. No kingdom will be equal."
"Moreover, if you walk in my ways and keep my statutes and Commandments... I will prolong your days."
History tells us that Solomon did NOT always follow a life of wisdom. Scripture records that when Solomon grew old his, wives turned his heart after other gods and he was not wholeheartedly devoted to the Lord. Solomon would eventually lose the kingdom.
Oh how important is the subject of wisdom, but how much more important it is to live in obedience to that wisdom.
I want to encourage you today to walk in righteousness and holiness before our loving father. Remember, the fear of the Lord Is the beginning of wisdom.
