A Note From
Galatians 5:1: "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."
I was thinking about this verse...
Sounds kind of obvious doesn’t it? If someone sets you free, would it not be for the sake of freedom? Paul is
using the obvious to stress something very important.
Think about it, how many people would be set free and then walk right back into prison?
Perhaps it is someone who doesn’t feel they deserve it and they still need to, “pay their dues“.
Or, Perhaps someone would think they were better protected behind bars.
The first scenario is not accepting the forgiveness that’s been granted and the other scenario is fear-based.
I’m sure if each of us gave it deep thought, we could come up with other reasons why we simply do not accept the gift of freedom. Is there a bondage that you are holding onto, yet, freedom simply needs to be accepted on your part?
Remember, a stronghold is a, “mindset” that’s based on deception.
Living a lie that is powerless. When you believe the lie, you empower the liar.
If you identify with Christ, that is the key. It is all about your identity.... a “new identity”.
We replace sins vicious cycle with God’s victorious cycle.
Let us walk daily in what has been freely given to us...FREEDOM!
